doodle ~

Are you a doodler?

I'm doodling all the time ... especially when I'm on the phone!

When I pick up the phone, it's like automatic, where's a pen and paper.

Even in church ... I would doodle up the bulletin before the service was over.  I remember as a child my Mom snagging the church bulletin out of my hand on more than one ocassion along with a stern look.  I was paying attention - apparently she thought my doodling was interferring with my hearing.

Here's my latest ... I'm calling it Phone Calls With My Sisters :)  The doodle started with the bird ... and grew from there.

I never keep my doodles ... and this piece of paper is far from being used up ... look at all the doodle room left on it!

Slim is always telling me to clean up the papers by my computer.  Is he crazy ... I have phone numbers, order numbers, scribbles, picture doodles, recipes, messages, web site addys, etc... all scribbled out on those ... and I know what each and every one of those scribbly doodles was for.   I, and only I sort out my mess of papers :)  An organized Diva ~ I am not.  A Doodler ~ yes.

Until next time ...
So it goes in my neck of the woods.

  1. I had to enlarge it to find the bird lol, but you've got a real talent. This is beautiful! Incidently, I'm a doodler too and passed it on to my daughter who designs for some Internet sites what she calls "Scribble Prints." Not nearly as nice as this....hers OR mine! I'd send that out as a Christmas card any time!

  2. You're a true artist Mel. Your talent has to be expressed. Your doodle is beautiful. My doodles never make it past circles, lines and occasional heart or star. lol
Your doodle would make a honey of a Christmas card or a search & find the birdie poster.
    Cool!

  5. Imma laughing as I look at my pile of notes. Ideas to add to book, phone numbers, web sites, birthdays, etc. I went crazy trying to find the danged BIRD!!! Now I cannot miss it.
I doodle but nothing that elaborate. There is a lot of artistic ability there, are you the one that spray paints train cars and buildings?

I think you should save the doodles. I believe thou couldest become a professional doodler!!

  6. You really need to think about making embroidery patterns. You might be able to partner with someone or submit to their websites (for a fee?) Crafters can use coloring on the fabric too, embroider and incorporate it into wall hangings or quilts, pillows or place mats. Don't throw them away!

  11. Mel. maybe the deer were as well hidden in plain sight as your bird. Would explain the lack of a trophy buck.

  12. I don't like to give advice, but if that were my doodle, I'd frame it and it would be part of my winter decor.

  14. I don't see doodles, I see art here. All my little scraps of paper have phone numbers and info. Now I have to go back and look for that bird.

  15. Just found you by way of Kathy's Moving On To The Past & am so enjoying visiting your creative blog. Your "doodling" is beyond just doodling too... as a quilter and someone who also enjoys embroidery - wow! all kinds of possibilities!!
