I just love surfing the web and finding out how to do things correctly!
Until next time ...

it's snowing ~
Yes ... that is snow coming down as I look out the window. Old Man Winter is coming back for a visit to remind us that it's only April and he's done with Mother Nature and her teasing ways of taunting us with hopes of spring.
It's only in the 30's today ... the wind is blowing ... last night it was hailing and raining ... the power was off for a couple hours ... and it's SNOWING AGAIN!!! PLEASE ... like we haven't had enough of that already.
We have been spoiled this whole last month with such beautiful weather ... in the 60's and 70's ... the temps even reached the 80's a few times and now this again. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck.
Time to do another indoor project ... that will become my outdoor project when this snow decides to leave for a few months ~ the fairy/gnome garden.
I cut some birch bark and wove it into little mats that I'll use for the patio's in the fairy garden :)
They would also make cute little trivets for under my houseplants. I haven't decided yet for sure where they are going to end up. I think I'll be making a few more :)

Poor Mr. Robin.
I bet he's wishing the weather was like it was 2 days ago too.
He's probably wondering to himself ...
"Stupid snow."
"What was my big rush to hurry up and get back Up North???"
Until next time ...

big birds ~
Sesame Street has it's Big Bird ... and I have mine ... the eagles, ravens and hawks :)
They fly down to dine on the beaver carcasses that we had from trapping season. We put them out in the woods to discard of them; and put a trail camera on them to see what cleans them up. To save you the displeasure of seeing the gory beavers I tried to crop and clone them out of the pictures ... and just leave the birds ... thus the reasoning for some of the funky looking ground they are standing upon.
I was hoping to get some pictures of wolves, coyotes, bobcats or bear ~ but the card filled up fast with hundreds of photos of crows and ravens flying past it ... oh well ... it is what it is.
I think this one is a juvenile red tail hawk ... but not sure. I do know it's some kind of hawk though and not a juvenile eagle by it's beak and the white feathers on it's legs. It's also a bit smaller than the female or juvenile eagles.
notice the difference ... this is a juvenile eagle ... note the heavier beak and brown leg feathers ~
nice wing span ~
The eagles and hawks are such awesome birds and I feel very privileged to be able to see them flying over the house on a daily basis and to be able to capture them in the wild on the trail camera when I can.
The following three photos are from two years ago ... I just thought I'd share them again ~ just because I can :)
Until next time ...

squirrels ~
The squirrels are taking over ~ at any given time of the day I can look out my window and see at least 5 squirrels running about.
Within a few weeks ... the babies will be running about too and that number will multiply and I'll have 5x's that many.
I have gray squirrels, black squirrels, pine squirrels and the nocturnal flying squirrels here. The pine squirrels we refer to them as red squirrels; but they really are pine squirrels.
I just love the looks of this little red ~ it's gray with a red tail:
As long as they behave themselves and don't decide to eat my car again they can have free range. The red squirrels got into my car once and chewed the wiring to my air conditioning to the tune of over $400 worth of damage. So far ... they are behaving themselves ... for their sake lets hope it stays that way!
Until next time ...
