Sunday

tug on the heart strings~

It happened again this morning...
just like yesterday...
and the day before...

someone stopped to buy bait.

Our bait shop has been out of business since September 1st.  The signs are all down ~ yet they come ... knocking on the door looking for some minnows or fishing tackle... and all of them say, "did you know your signs are down?"

It kinda tugs on the heart strings.

Until next time...
So it goes in my neck of the woods.

  2. Time for a new sign ~ WE HAVE SOLD OUR BUSINESS ~ DONNER'S BAIT SHOP IS A THING OF THE PAST! Then add a little note on the bottom that sends them on to the guy you sold the business to saying "The Bait Lady sent me" and get a cut back from him :) See you soon!

  3. Aw, Mel. This reminds me of my brother telling me that folks still stop by 'our childhood home' after 4 decades to ask if 'we' still sell fishing worms. lol When we little we had a worm farm and sold them to the fisherman. It's amazing how folks remember, but then again, I think they also remember the friendship and kindness too.
You'll probably always get folks dropping by... even if you put up a sign saying 'out of business'
It's a big compliment to your and Slim's character and heart.

Wishing you a week of warm happy nostalgia and Merry Christmas fun!
    (((hugs)))

  4. I agree with Cheryl,
time for a new sign. You've earned your
freedom, although as Dee said, it does say
alot about your characters, or is it just that
    you two are characters? lol
    Have a great morning sis.
    Love ya, me

  5. Awww, the memories you have instilled in so many fishermen and women and the children that you never denied a licorice whip or gummies or something cold to drink...
You're good folks and for that you will frequented with visits...
