brandy ~

It's been 2 months since she passed from this earthly home
and has found her way to doggy heaven
... and I just couldn't fight the tears back to make this post until now.

She was a good dog.
She was my constant companion for almost 14 years.

Many hours had been spent together in conversation ...
Me doing the talking ~ and she listening and dwelling on my every word
as if she knew what I was rambling on about.

She gave me comfort.

Our family was blessed to have such a loyal and loving pet.

It's really hard for me to take my walks without her.

She loved blazing the trail and checking things out before me ...

Napping in the sunshine ~

~ and running in new fallen snow ...

  She was a good dog.

Until next time ...
So it goes in my neck of the woods.

  1. It hurts so much to lose such a trusted friend, that accepts you just the way you are. God bless Brandy. Blessings to you, too.

    Beautiful picture tribute.

  2. What a wonderful tribute to your best friend. Dan and I know exactly how you feel. We still mourn our two "kids" and it has been about 4 years for both of them. Our heart is with you and your family.

  4. Love you girl. You express the feelings so weil. Sometimes I think someone cannot love a pet like I did, until you learn.

I remember a sweet old girl, a Golden Lab, there in the north country. She greeted us on our arrival. Such a sweet disposition. Lord yes, I can understand how you miss her. My loss was Ace, way over 50 years ago and yes I think of him fondly now.

Great tribute word wise and pictures.

    Love to you guys!

  7. Oh Mel, what a lovely tribute and I know you have shed tears galore. It hurts so much to give them up. We always mourn our pets. I can never remember being without a pet. Always a dog or 2. They kept each other company when their were 2. I am so sorry but your love showed in every word. Brandy could never have had a better friend than you and Brandy knew it.

  15. Mel, Brandy was such a loving dog. It's never easy losing them. Thom and I still talk about his Smoke Dog and my Bubba and Tippy, and they've been gone for years. But they were our 'furry family' members and just like other family members we hold fond memories of them.
