cooling rack ~

I sure have been Ms Betty Crocker lately ... baking and a cooking up a storm. The cold weather brings it out of me.  I hope it warms up soon.

Last night I put together 2 pizzas for supper.  Our daughter and her hubby and 2 girls and the Grandloves boyfriend were here to help chow them down.

For dessert I made a cake from scratch ~

Of course, like so many times when baking I didn't have the right ingredients at hand ... and a trip to town for limes was out of the question ... so was the key lime cake.  So I improvised and used oranges and orange juice and orange jello wherever it called for lime.

Then when the Grandloves showed up ~ Bailey wanted to add blueberries and raspberries on top and here's the final results.

It was delish!

We managed to devour half a cake!

Well I suppose I better go do something constructive today... like shovel some snow again.

Until next time ...
So it goes in my neck of the woods.

I know it was neat having the family over to help. And I know they wus glad for mama's cooking.

    Sherry & Jack

  2. Thom would have devoured the pizza while I dug right into the cake! Of course I know that would never happen with your eagle eye! Both look very mouth watering. YUM!
    'love & hugs from afar'

  3. Wow! Those are some large pizzas. Bet everyone enjoys your good cooking.

  4. That cake looks good. REAL GOOD.

  5. Yum, Yum and Yum, and in that order.
I made homemade pizza a couple nights ago too. I asked Bill to open the can of black olives I handed him and lo and behold, they were black beans. I had him rinse them and throw a handful on the pizzs and ya know, it was pretty darned good after all, (plus black olives) is what it is, right.
No one went hungry or even noticed.
