skating ~

What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than at an ice skating show :)

Our Grandlove, Bailey, has joined the Price Ice Figure Skating program and it was her first show.  It was the 21st Annual Figure Skating show though for the Price Ice Skaters. (we live in Price county, WI ... thus the name)
This is the first year skating group.  They're so cute!

What a great show that was put on.  The theme of the show was Under the Sea. The skaters are grade school through high school in age, K-12.  It was a bittersweet moment for a few of the skaters as it was their senior year and last show skating with the Price Ice Skaters.

These gals are the Price Icicles.  Price Ice's first Synchronized team.  They competed in the Badger State Games and brought home a silver medal!

All of the skaters were such a joy to watch.  The only negative thing about the whole afternoon was that it was sooooooooooo cold outside, -14 degrees and inside the ice rink didn't feel much warmer.
I felt sorry for the skaters warming up under blankets between the program schedules.

This was a really cute act, although it really didn't pertain to the theme Under the Sea:  It was a trio of 2 police officers and 1 bank robber ... I didn't get a pic of the bank robber ... They danced to the the music, "I Can't Fight This Feeling "

They did catch the bank robber in the end:)

Here comes our Bailey and her group out to perform:

~ half the group is going one way ... the other half of the line the other ~
I remember as a kid doing this and we would call it "crack the whip".  I don't know what they call it in skating class??

I do know that having just started skating in November ... these kids did an excellent job :)

I think Bailey and her friends were getting cold.  She did cheer up though at the end when they were skating around the rink and she noticed her Dad and sister during the flower toss.

I had Brooke toss my a purple rose over the plexi - glass for me to our little future Olympian Figure Skater.
Aww... Bailey ... you did us proud!

Until next time ...
So it goes in my neck of the woods.

  2. It's really cold when the temperature inside the rink is warmer than outside! Gives me the shivers to think about it. I enjoyed the photos of the skaters and your lovely Bailey.

  4. Awesome! Oh my goodness, she's growing up so fast. Love that first pic! I can't believe its been 21 years since the Price Ice started. I'm in shock - but then I've been gone from there since '97. Wow.

  5. Super. something unfamiliar here in the South. I know we'd be Froze in place, but it must be a thrill to watch the skaters.
They do do amazing stuff on ice, I really do admire their abilities...

Of course I have to admire a kid on a blade rather than a solid 4 wheels. LOL

    Thanks for the entertainment.

  9. Bailey Jean looks so adorable. Her performance was the same day as Ryele's Round Robin Hockey games which is where we were. Otherwise, I would have loved to be there.
She looks good on those skates...so when is she going pro? Such a cutie.
Love from Aunt Dar to Bails

  10. What cute pics of Bailey and the other kids. I sure wish I could have been there. Staci said she ordered the DVD so I can at least watch it next time we come home for a visit.
I talked to Staci on the phone tonight and she was saying that she had a check up today and that she is 2 days away from being full term. I told her that even though her due date isn't until the 20th, that shes gonna have the baby next week, or definitely before her due date. She said that she can't have it early because she's not ready yet, also that her Dr will be on vacation next week. I just laughed at her and said that's all the more reason why I think she will have it next week. My prediction is Wed or Thurs, we will see how well I do! Love ya and let me know what you predict.

    1. She told me 2 DAYS, but she might have meant weeks. True to Staci doing anything on time. If we wait for it to be on her terms she wouldn't have it until March of next year lol!

  13. This looks like a wonderful event. We don't have much ice-skating in Tennessee, but it's good to see so many young people enjoying skating together. Your granddaughter is very pretty.
