Tuesday

poor ducks ~

We took a little ride up to the Turtle Flambeau Flowage to see if the ice was off.  The only open water we saw was this little bit by the dock ...

... LOTS of ice out there.  I don't think any boats will be putting in this body of water for the opening of fishing season ... coming up this next weekend.

Then we took a ride over to the cabin to see if everything was ok over there.  The yard has water in it ... along with a pair of mallard ducks.

If there's too much ice on the big water ... go swim in the puddles!

It was snowing again this morning ... the temps are only in the high 30's.  Oh well... nothing we can do about that.

Until next time ...
So it goes in my neck of the woods.

  2. Smart ducks! Yep, snowed here today too. Our water is open - so I'm sure lots of fishing down here.

  3. Pretty ducks! Your snowing, we have air conditioners on. Too bad we couldn't trade a little and have the temps both places just right, huh?

  4. That is a lot of ice that needs to melt. I feel for you about the snow.

  5. By time the flowage and Lake Superior melts, the water levels should be nearly back where they belong, ya think? The creek is open at the cabin but now we can't take the road...it's just like grease, and slushy wet. We got about 2 inches but just north of here got 4. Spring will be here by mid-summer.
Oh happy day. The bear are sure out and about tho., and hungry!

  8. It's 48 here, which I love because it means the bad weather will be put off for another day. I hope you get a thaw soon!
