abc's of me~

the ABC's of me ~

Newt had sent the "abc's of me" back in 2006 ... I thought it was about time I did mine... so here we go... better late than never!

The ABC's of ME ~

Accent – Yankee all the way... but that's not an accent is it? That's just normal speech.

Booze of Choice – Make mine a Mount Royal Lite with a splash of diet Coke. I might tip down a really cold bottle of Miller Genuine Draft once in a blue moon too if the mood strikes me or a glass of homemade blackberry wine.

Chore I Hate – I haven’t really found one that I enjoy. I think that’s why they call them chores... but there is one in particular that stands out above all others; and that would be raking up dog poop in the spring.

Dog or Cat –Dog.  Brandy, our golden retriever, is our watch dog, greeter, and chase away any critter that comes into the yard dog.   Our other dog in the yard is Sam and Ashley's dog Amber the English Springer... only downfall... they poop!

Essential Electronics - Computer, iPod, television, radio, dvd player ... and I'm rather fond of the electric knife when it comes to cleaning fish.

Favorite Cologne – None in particular.  I like the soft scents of musk or jasmine, vanilla or cherry blossoms ... is Dial soap a cologne?

Gold or Silver – Gold! I would love to go panning and get myself a nugget.

Hometown – Born and raised in Park Falls, WI

Insomnia – It used to be a real problem until I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea.  Now I use a CPAP (Continuous Positive Air Pressure) when I sleep ~ talk about a life saver!

Job Title – the exBaitlady ... I use to have a wholesaler who calls me "the Queen" ... I also find that a fitting title... but since we sold the bait business I guess I would have to use the title, "Senior Research Associate in the Field of Child Development and Human Relations"... sounds better than just saying Mom or G'ma ... lol.

Kids – 2 daughters, 1 son, and 3 granddaughters

Living Arrangement - Me and the Mr ... been together upcoming 34 years this August.  He learned early what's mine is mine and what's his is mine.

Money -  They say it's the root of all evil ... that must be why I'm so nice ... I have no money!

Number of Sexual Partners - Uh... now we're getting a little too personal.

Overnight Hospital Stays – Too many! Six knee surgeries, gallbladder, the big H, babies, whiplash, the neck, the back, the heart, the heart, the heart, the heart, the heart, the heart, the heart, the list goes on!  Some people have a thin little folder of their medical history ... I have a novel.  I think over the years I've paid for a whole new wing at the Marshfield Hospital and Clinic!

Phobias – None that I can think of, except maybe getting a little on the claustrophobic side as I'm aging. I hate crowded areas. When I had my last MRI I really felt like I was in a tomb. I was fighting off a panic attack the whole time the procedure was being done.

Quote – His Eye is on the sparrow; and I know He watches me.

Religion – I was raised a Lutheran, but I tend to have conflicts with the "Church".  I am a Christian!

Siblings – I have 4 sisters living,  who I am better looking than, 1 sister who has passed on . I also have 3 brothers living who look like my sisters, and 1 brother who has passed on.  There were 10 of us altogether.

Time I Wake Up – 6:00 AM.

Unusual Talent – I plunk away at the dulcimer once in awhile; and when I was younger I could plug my nose and air would come out by my tear duct of my right eye.

Vegetable(s) - Love them! BUT I hate fresh leaf garden lettuce. I keep getting flashbacks to a little worm I saw once crawling on a leaf just as I was about to pop it into my mouth.

Worst Habit – Using the F word when I'm really really really really really mad. It makes me mad when I succumb to that because I really really really really do detest it.

X-rays – I've had so many that I glow.

Yummy Foods I Make – ALL my cookin'! ~ thus the weight problems.

Zodiac Sign – the tenth sign of the zodiac ~ Capricorn the goat.

~~~
There you have it Newt, a few years late on answering this; but I did it!!
Until next time...
So it goes in my neck of the woods.
  3. Mel, I'm sorry to learn you've had so many health problems down through the years. But glad to know you are the best looking of your siblings. ;)
    I also wanted to tell you that I made your doughgen yesterday! Mine didn't turn out as pretty as yours...hence, no picture of it up on my blog today. lol HOWEVER, it is SO tasty that I will continue to practice and when I come up with one that looks somewhere near how pretty yours turn out, I'll post the picture!
  4. RE: Dar ... I am usually up at 5 a.m. I should have put in there that I don't function though until 6.
    RE: Lyn ... Don't feel bad about being lazy and not taking this over to your blog ~ it took me since 2006 to answer this. Now that's lazy!!
    RE: Dianna ... Yes, I humble myself these days on just how beautiful I am. lol Just don't put a mirror in front of me :) I thought that comment would get my sister Dar going! ha!! Glad you enjoyed that doughgen ~ can't wait to see the pics.
  5. I loved it all, especially the talent. Today I was showing Sherry I was double jointed in my thumb. Didn't impress her at all. I succumed to your use of the 'f' word. Then she hit me. She loves this blog though, she will probably think it is neat you could blow trough your tear duct!
    BUT you, being a capricorn, makes it all right.
    Y'all do have an axsent, and it ain't normal. hahahahhaha!
    ps: I think I love ever accent in this great country. The strangest thing is honestly most Southeners think we do not have an AXE-Sent.
    Great entry.
  6. Mel,
    I know...I know...I've been here once today already. But I wanted to drop in again and thank you for dropping by my blog today!
    Yes...I used frozen berries. With all of this cold snowy weather we're having right now it was my only choice. Well...maybe not my ONLY choice, but I refuse to pay the prices that the super markets want for berries this time of the year. When you use the frozen berries, do you use them frozen or do you thaw them first and let them drain good before adding? I have some blueberries in the freezer, also. So, I'm thinking that the next one will be a blueberry.
    Thanks again for stopping by!
  7. Mel, of course you are the most beautiful; everyone says you look just like ME! (and you are a few years younger.) I can still blow air through my tear ducts and sometimes I can even wet the inside of my glasses doing it; AND I can still flip my elbow from top to bottom ~ talk about family talent!
  9. Very interesting reading about you Mel. I think the thing the most interesting is the fact that you still live in the place that you were born and raised in. Everyone I know moved around the country as their lives evolved. I was actually born in St.Louis, Mo. and never wanted to go back, lol
  10. RE: Moni~ out of all of us siblings at one time we were scattered all over the country, Texas, New Jersey, Minnesota, southern Wisconsin, Alaska, Missouri and we're all back in the Park Falls area now with the exception of Cher in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan ~ only 2 hours away, and Colleen who is still in Texas, 24 hours away. Slim and I lived in Waterloo,WI for awhile after we first got married; but found our way home to the Park Falls area again.
