Thursday

still making flowers (Today's Flowers)~

Yes, I'm still playing with the gum paste ... making flowers.  My sister Darla came over this morning to get in on the action.  She made three little white leaves before she took her leave... but I guarantee ~ she'll be making more.

I kept puttering away with it and came up with a trillium and two daffodils ~ Chromacolor Variety ... inspired by Betsy's beautiful flowers. Thank you Betsy for the inspiration. (check out her site! She has a green thumb when it comes to flowers!!)

Then this afternoon... after doing some domestic duties ~ like laundry and lunch I made up some more filler flowers ... little sweet pea blossoms:

What will tomorrow's flowers be??? I guess I'll figure that out tomorrow.

I hope I'm not boring you with my flowers ... but I thought it would be a good place to document my progress in learning this new art here on my blog.

Until next time...
So it goes in my neck of the woods.

  4. Wow, those are very pretty! I'm not sure I'd have the patience to do such things, but you don't know till you try. I guess it is good that we all have different talents, different avenues for creativity, isn't it?

  8. ~bows to Melody~ You are truly a wonderful artist. I love your flowers. You really do have a natural born gift for art!
You did a fabulous job on the irises. I love that you began your sculpting the same way I did, by making buds. I must've made a hundred of them. lol But mine weren't edible. ;)
I can hardly wait to see a table center-piece or cake decorated in your creations. I know it'll be a feast for the eyes and heart.
    ~standing ovation~

My sister, Peggy has been working with fondant and she loves it. It's mostly marshmallows and powdered sugar. Her grandkids had fun with it too. I'll be posting on it soon.

Wishing you a fabulously fun sculpting weekend!
    :)

  9. Quick update...

I posted about Peggy & the fondant.
You're welcome to surf on by and take a gander at it.
I also posted a link to the recipe & instructional website for it.

Peggy said the fondant reminded her a lot like working with polymer clay. I think that's cool! :)

    Wishing you a fun-filled weekend!
    :)
