in wisconsin ~

IN WISCONSIN...

It's winter in Wisconsin
And the gentle breezes blow,
70 miles per hour at 52º below.

Oh, how I love Wisconsin
When the snow's up to your butt,
You take a breath of winter air -
Your nose; it freezes shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful,
I guess I'll hang around.
I could never leave Wisconsin,
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!

It's really not as traumatic as the poem implies ~ we're at  -15 below this morning and the gentle breezes only make it feel like minus 30.

Until next time...
So it goes in my neck of the woods.

  1. Brrr! We're supposed to get some white stuff starting this evening. The skies this morning look like it could snow; we'll see what we see. Thank goodness it's not 30 below, though! I would be a popsicle! Cute poem. Darling photo!

  9. Hi Mel! Thanks for finding my blog, posting a comment, and signing up to follow! Yes, I know where Park Falls is! As a kid, my family would drive thru there about once every 2 years or so to visit my aunt/uncle/cousins in Butternut. :)

I've entered you in the giveaway for the chickadee! Nice to 'meet' you and look forward to following you too! Love the Wis. photos!

  12. Now little sister ~ don't be such whoosie! We went swimming at Circle Hot Springs on the top of the world when it was THIRTY FIVE DEGREES BELOW ZERO! When we came above water our hair would freeze. I never had such soft hair in my life! But yes, it's been chillin' over here too.

  13. Now that is funny.
I'm a newbe to snow so it is still a fun thing for me. I have found the way to not have it is to want it badly.
Just checked out side and we are getting flurries, whee.

  14. Being from the south, I cannot imagine temperatures like you all have up there. I freeze my bootie off when it gets down to almost zero here... We had our coldest day of the winter so far this morning... Officially about 2 degrees.... Yipes...

We are also expecting alot of snow here tomorrow.. Of course, when they predict it, we don't usually get it. SO--I'll just wait and see. We are ready for whatever happens.

The best thing in Wisconsin now is the PACKERS.
    Hugs,
    Betsy;
