Saturday

patiently waiting~

Let it snow ...
         Let it snow ...
                  Let it snow ...

Like the little chickadee ...
                Sitting on the limb ...
                        Patiently waiting it's turn ...

And the chimmenia ...
Warding off rust and ready to burn ...

The bird house ...
The bird bath ...
      The flower beds too ....
Are patiently waiting ... for Spring time & BLOOMS!

I'm feeling a little snowed in today ... can you tell? Yes-sir-ee ... we got another dusting of snow ... and it's still coming down.  Yesterday afternoon I wiped all the snow off the top of the feeder ~ see how much snow we got since then.

Let it snow ...
     Let it snow ...
       Let it snow ...

I love the distinct four seasons that we have here in northern Wisconsin; but sometimes the winter just seems so long.

Until next time...
So it goes in my neck of the woods.

  1. Oh I remember those "cabin fever" days of long, long, epically long winters. :)

Here in NE Texas, we have returned to more normal temps for us (40s today) and rain. So the very last traces of snow are disappearing as we speak. :)

  2. AAAHHHHHHH, but the pictures are so pretty. Good dialog along with them, I know theChicadee appreciates the food. BUT why didn't it come South. Snow is illegal here in Florida, they allow only pretty pictures, so thanks.

We have always been impressed while traveling, with the colorful flowers you northern folks have in the summer. As I age I think I know why you all can appreciate the green and color much more than we can.

My cousin was relating a story of folks looking out an office window up there at the first snow. He mentioned that everyone was around the window and he made the statement I am sure you guys have seen snow before. The office manager told him the poeple are not looking at the snow son, they are looking at the green grass, because it will be months before they see the green again.

    We all can learn something.

  5. I love "snowed in days," but if you've had it for several days in a row, it becomes wearisome! Love the pictures! So pristine and peaceful looking. Sorry you're feeling closed in. Go make a snowman!! LOL!

  6. As I was watching the snow drift down I was thinking to myself how beautiful it is as it refreshens the scenery ~ then I thought - when will it be spring??? lol Great minds think alike - but then we've always been able to complete one anothers thoughts and words. lol

  8. Ah yes -- snow -- if you have the winter blahs may I suggest running as fast as you can through it and then rolling around in it when you get tired....may just help....

  9. Patience is a cultivated virtue. You have a golden opportunity to grow lots of it right now!!! The sunshine here was terrific yesterday and today - and much of the snow has gone away. There's still snow (or I should say, ice) on my driveway where I packed it. I had a call from my 89 year old Mom today saying she was about to go stir-crazy...wanting to get out. Guess I'll have to go over tomorrow and take her somewhere.

  10. Yes Mel, didn't we wake up to a silence that meant it had snowed and snowed plenty. Being up anyway, a couple times last night, I'd check to see how much more we had, by one a.m. we already had another 4, all total, I'd say we got 10 inches. Bill is sick as a dog so Stacy came to plow for us...what a guy. At least the snow is pretty. Pretty blinding, pretty white, pretty much.
Stay warm, it really isn't that bad out there.

  11. Beautiful pictures! I'm jealous. If our rain were snow, we'd have as much as you. :) So glad you are a follower on my blog. It's my New Year's Resolution to keep up with it better.

  12. Now that is a legitimate snow. So far we have only had one dusting. Cold enough, single digits and teens. No pretty, just brown and beige.
If it helps you, I got my first seed catalog today.

  13. I was getting cabin fever from our snow, which was insignificant compared to what you have. Of course, we're not prepared to handle snow down here. I just keep telling myself that Spring will come.

  14. Yes---it does look as if you have ALOT of snow.... I would be snowed in for a week if that happened here!!!! ha...

YES---that does make us all yearn for Spring... it will happen ---but we have to be patient, don't we?

  15. Nice cheery little poem, Mel. Did you write this? I wouldn't be surprised :) you do so many things so well. It hardly seems we've had winter, yet I see several posting about waiting for Spring already, even in the south! I personally am glad for the quiet days of winter after the holidays .... although I did say to hubby today that as soon as Spring weather hits, I'll be off running in my lil Trail-blazer, packing my paints along, and be gone over hill and dale, looking for the best scenes to paint.

  18. More and more snow. I am sure you could get cabin fever all right when snowed in. Phoenix is so not snowy, it would be as hard for you guys to imagine I think as for me to think of living with so much snow. I couldn't imagine such a place as Phoenix when I was young and living in snow country. But snowy landscapes makes beautiful pictures!
