Home again ~
We still have a few days left of Dear Hubby's vacation ... seeing as how we didn't make it to all the places we intended ... so once again ~ it's a time will tell situation.
Who knows what's in store for us two vagabonds.
Maybe we'll just spend the time out in the garage making table and bench frames for the marble we bought home from Texas ~ my sister lives next door to a place where they cut and polish marble. Slim, Colleen and I walked over there one afternoon to see what they had laying around ~ and what we could find for a table top or bench top or to make some accent pieces for in my flower gardens.
So how awesome are these?
Aren't they MARBLEOUS!!
I have a ton of catching up to do on my emails and blogging ~ and hope to do so within a few days. In the meantime ... I just wanted to pop in quick and leave a post. I promised Dear Hubby while he's still on vacation I would spend more time with him than my computer. I know... sometimes I just lose my grip on reality and make weird little promises like that to The Man ... I must have been pricked by Cupid's arrow.
Happy Valentine's Day !!
Until next time...
So it goes in my neck of the woods.

Enjoy the rest of vacation with Hubby! Your computer will forgive you for taking a little time off...eventually....ha. Take care, Sheila
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it home safely, Mel... Sorry TN wasn't in the cards for you all this trip. Maybe next time!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove that marble... I'm sure you'll find lots of great things to use those for..
Have a great "last" few days of hubby's vacation... Happy Valentine's Day.
Hugs,
Betsy
Oh sure, show me marble - like you didn't know I love marble!! I especially love the green slab - so if you are making something for me, just keep that in mind okay?!
ReplyDelete'love & hugs from afar'
I love that your sis is putting in orders... :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it back safely to the homeland. Sorry the weather did not exactly play nicely for you!
I have always wanted to see them polish the marble. Just wonder how they will do my tombstone. hahahahah.
ReplyDeleteYou are hard to keep up with. I saw the alert 'Up North With Mel' and told Sherry, Mell will have to change that to 'Down South with Mel', BUT here you are back up North with Slim.
Love the marble I know you will make something special out of it.
Glad you are safely back home though, I know you enjoyed the time in Texas, regardless of the weather!
NOw try to stay out of trouble.
As your sister would say: Love from a Florida.
I'm sorry the weather didn't cooperate very well with your trip to supposed to be sunnier climes. Glad you are home safely.
ReplyDeleteYou have a treasure-trove of marble pieces there, Mel. I especially admire the piece in the last photo; love that green!
I love your blog. I have been blessed??? with a computer that did not work since I posted about my grandson who fell 20 ft. and broke his back. No workmans comp. but they did successful surgery on his back. Probably will be unable to work for nearly a year. Just had surgery Wed. so long haul ahead. Great day here. Nearly 70 degrees and that is soon for Nebraska.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you enjoyed your vacation with Hubby. And got a little break from your snow so you could enjoy someone else's snow. Plenty of snow to go around this winter except in Arizona. Always balmy in Phoenix. I am going to look for the fisheree sometime in your blog. I forgot just when it was to take place.
ReplyDeleteSo, I go to visit Mom today, she gets a phone call and swept off her feet by the two vagabonds for a road trip up north...to check out the logging operation...that's ok, I forgive ya. I wish I had not had a sick hubby at home...I would have tagged along.
ReplyDeleteAs for that Marble, the green one that Cher wants a piece of, ummm, does age count over beauty? Me first. Love that one...so much character...so anxious to see what you make of it. What gems.
BlessYourHeartSis
I like the marble pieces that you brought back with you. Happy Valentine's Day to you and "The Man"!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentines Day!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are home safe even though early. Nice to unwind at home anyway.
Looking forward to seeing your marble creations.
Glad you made it home...safely! Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteI feed the fish while you were away...LOL! The marble is muy grande, the greenish piece is fantastic! Can't wait to see what you use them for. Enjoy the remainder of your vacation and Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it home safe and sound. Happy Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteYou're one lucky girl, can't wait to see the pictures of what you do with the marble.
ReplyDeleteGlad you made the trip safely and still have time left to devote to Hubby.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy--the computer will wait.
Happy Valentines Day.
Those are marvelous pictures of marble! I love marble for floors or for counter-tops. In summer they always feel so cool and comfortable to the feet. So sorry you folks had to change your plans and won't come by here this year. I'll look forward to next year, for sure. Do plan on it and let us know when.
