Thursday

at last~

Oh Praise the Lord ~~ and pass the gravy!!  I have my computer back!!!

I never wanted to be without it ... but I had to endure a whole week without my clunker computer ... and I wasn't a happy camper!  Now... my clunker is back and I'm smiling again.

Of course, when I heard my Grandlove Brooke call out to me a week ago, "Grandmaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, I didn't do a thing to it ... it just quit!", I knew I wasn't going to be happy about what I was going to see when I walked into my office to check things out.

Sure enough, there sat Brooke by my computer.  All that was showing on the monitor screen was a signal saying that the signal was lost.  Then it went black.

My computer had shut down ~ and wasn't coming back on.

A quick call to G., my pc guru, and it still wasn't looking good.  You see, my computer was made for me about 10 years ago... not by G.; but by another guy who doesn't live in my area anymore.   It has really been through the gauntlet.  My hard drive has been partitioned four times; possibly five ... I can't recall right now without crawling into the guts of this machine.  ANYhoooooooo.....

The last time I had to call on G. about my computer he told me that this old clunker is just hanging on by a prayer.  Well...  hanging on by a prayer ain't bad.   At least I don't think so.  I have a LOT of faith in the power of prayer!

Two days later, G.  is finally able to come out to the house to take a look.  He took one look ... unhooked everything ... shook his head at me and said, "remember what I told you last time?"  Yep... I remembered, "I'm just hanging on by a prayer."

He said to prepare myself for the bad news.  He'd give me a call.

Well... this morning I was able to pick up my computer.  Nothing is lost on it.  It's working just fine.  All G. had to do was install a new power source panel.

Hmmmm....  and who says prayer isn't a powerful thing!

Until next time...
So it goes in my neck of the woods.

  4. A computer on the blink is a gut-sinking sensation, isn't it? I'm happy for you that he was able to find and fix a fairly small thing. Welcome back!
